The story behind it

In the assembly hall of a professional drone manufacturer, Sofia and Amina work with cordless screwdrivers. During the shift, one screwdriver falls onto the concrete floor. The tool appears to be fine, so at the end of the shift its removable battery is placed together with the others into chargers located inside an ElleyMate EM3590s. Later, the damaged battery begins to heat up while charging and a thermal event develops. ElleyMate activates automatically, closes the protected space and releases its inert granular fill. The connected alarm reports the change of state. The night guard checks the situation from a safe distance, does not open the unit, and fire-service assistance is called. Marc, the firefighter, uses a thermal camera to confirm that the elevated temperature remains inside the unit and leaves the ElleyMate closed while it cools. Once the temperature is stable, Marc and Thomas move the unit outside on a transport cart. When it is opened, the damaged battery is almost unrecognisable, while the surrounding workshop shows no visible damage. The next morning, Thomas and Daniel review the incident footage and production is running normally. The ElleyMate is cleaned and checked, the activation fuse is replaced, the closing parts are reset and the specified inert fill is replenished. The unit is then returned to its place and put back into service. The incident involving one damaged battery thus remained local and under control.
